OFAS
Operation Float a Soldier (OFAS) is a nonprofit organization which began in the summer of 2005. OFAS was conceived out of the desire to give back to those who have given so much for us. The military members that we serve have been wounded in battle and some suffer very serious wounds, from missing limbs to major burns. It is our goal to give these brave men and woman the opportunity to take a break from grueling rehab at the hospital, and enjoy a day of fun, fishing, floating and fellowship. In our maiden voyage there were 20 people that included wounded soldiers from Iraq and their families. Since then, the organization has grown in size to include volunteers from the Canyon Lake Marina club and local residents who have boats and wish to volunteer their time. It is our desire to show our love of God and country by saying thank you to our soldiers by our actions. As our soldiers are healing in body, mind and soul we hope to be a part of that healing process. We are merely servants giving to those who have sacrificed for us and continue to sacrifice. As servants we provide a great day of adventure on Canyon Lake that begins with boating, a little fishing, a wonderful Texas brisket lunch, some water sports, and relaxation. Each year we gain more volunteers who selflessly give their time to assist in all the preparations and serving. Apart from the summer day events at the lake we are involved in developing other off-season initiatives that will have a positive impact in the soldiers and their family's lives. We continue to look for volunteers that are willing to partner with us through prayer, volunteering time, and sharing resources..

We would like to thank
ALL of the brave men and women serving our country. The men and women of our military are paying the price of freedom by sacrificing their own freedom and themselves to fight for ours and others. They are patriots, they believe in the ideas of liberty and have given of themselves to ensure that you and I still experience it. It is our purpose and mission to honor them, to help them, to comfort them, to love them, and to thank them for what they have done for us.
